The FV G11 system can be deployed in a number of configurations using combinations of 3 main components: the camera head, the Digital Video Recorder (DVR) and the Viewing Station. The Camera Head typically contains 2 cameras: a high resolution camera such as the G-11 and a standard PAL camera. The pictures from the cameras are compressed and optionally stored locally or transmitted immediately to a DVR using a single link. This transmission can be by fibre optic link, wireless radio, satellite, or any other network connectivity. The DVRs are all connected on a network allowing every Viewing Station to access pictures from every camera. Secure passwords can restrict access to pictures from specific cameras. |

The camera head typically has both a PAL camera and a high resolution 11 megapixel camera. Proprietary hardware compresses the pictures from both cameras using the Jpeg2000 standard. The standard lens provides a 45° view on the G-11 camera, with other lenses available from 25° to 85° views. With a G-11 standard 45° view, people and number plates can be recognised from 50 metres away. |

The viewing software runs on a Windows XP workstation providing seamless viewing from all cameras. Advanced transport functions allow easy access to stored video, and the intuitive interface allows zooming into any part of the picture. Video clips are quickly exported, and a "Lite" version of the viewer can be distributed to allow others to view the export. |
